These programs connect volunteers with organized cleanup events, trail stewardship, and Adopt-A-Highway opportunities across the region.
TDOT Adopt-A-Highway
Adopt a stretch of Tennessee state highway and commit to cleaning it at least twice a year. TDOT provides bags, safety vests, and picks up the filled bags. Groups, businesses, and families welcome.
ADOPT A HIGHWAYTennessee Clean Tennessee
TDEC's statewide litter prevention and cleanup program. Find organized cleanup events near you, register your own cleanup, and report illegal dump sites.
FIND EVENTSKeep Tennessee Beautiful
Affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. Coordinates community cleanups, Great American Cleanup events, and litter index surveys across Tennessee. Find your local affiliate.
GET INVOLVEDOcoee River Cleanup (Polk County)
Annual and periodic cleanup events along the Ocoee River corridor — one of the most visited whitewater destinations in the Southeast. Contact the Cherokee National Forest Ocoee-Hiwassee Ranger District.
LEARN MORETennessee Riverkeeper
Watchdog organization protecting the Tennessee River watershed. Organizes river cleanups, monitors water quality, and pursues enforcement against polluters.
JOIN A CLEANUPChattanooga Audubon Society
Organizes habitat restoration and cleanup events in Hamilton County and surrounding areas. Great option for nature-focused volunteers.
